When we are involved in a tough conversation, at work or home, it’s hard to make sure we are communicating effectively. It’s even harder to assure that we respond correctly, especially when our emotions might be running high inside of us.


One of the most reliable and well researched tools that can help us minimize our negative reactions in these moments is the idea of “creating space” – the concept of taking a moment to think before we react… so that we have a bit more control over the reaction and the long term outcome.
